Welcome to The Able Trade

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here! I’ve been sitting on this whole blogging idea since 2005, and 13 years later, here we are, with the first post. Maybe I have a little procrastination problem. So I owe the official launch of this blog to Dancing With The Stars. Yep, good ol’ Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews and Witney Carson, and the rest of the cast. While on commercial break, I was like man, how cool is it that these dancers get to do exactly what they love for a living. They are fit and healthy and get to express themselves through choreography and meet fun celebrities and build relationships, sounds like a pretty good career choice to me!

After doing the math on how many ballroom dance lessons it would take me to land a role on DWTS and determining that was a definite no go,  I let my brain wander, which I hardly ever do, but I ended up asking myself this question, if I had unlimited funds what would I do? And here is what I came up with…

I would buy a beautiful piece of land, and build a big industrial/farmhouse style building, plant gorgeous gardens on all sides, and have horses and goats, dogs, cats and bunnies in barns, hutches, and roaming all over the property. The building would be completely open, with glass roll up doors on all sides. On one wall would be a kitchen with open stations to host cooking classes, and somewhere else would be comfy chairs and couches with a wall of books to sit and read, there would be a mani/pedi bar, tall tables for crafting, an area to host workout and yoga classes and an indoor/outdoor bar with fresh juice, coffee, and of course booze so people could walk the property with a delicious drink in hand. Basically a paradise for ladies needing a break from life, or the kids, to treat themselves, to acquire new skills, to break a sweat, to gossip, or just to have some fun and hangout with girlfriends.

Fast-forward out of dream land, my bank account does not reflect this type of investment, but it did finally give me the push to launch this blog in an effort to create that beautiful dream in a more affordable way.

So that’s what I’m here to do, share recipes, do some DIY, talk books, relationships, child raising, hit on some fitness and health topics, and continue to explore and develop as a woman, wife, mother, sister, and potentially productive member of society.

Can’t wait to get to know you all!
